Gridder v5.6 Release Notes ========================== Latest update: December 5th, 2025 Changes since v5.5 (July 3rd, 2025) ----------------------------------- * Added function to copy node distribution settings (i.e., number of nodes, spacings, expansion ratios) from one curve segment to another (menu option "Segments - Copy Settings"). * Improved optimization of 3-D volume grids to achieve better element quality. Changes since v5.4 (May 19th, 2025) ----------------------------------- * Added export in GAMBIT's neutral file format * Added export in OpenFOAM's native format: - During export, 2-D meshes are automatically extruded in the z-direction to form single layer of 3-D elements. - We advice to run OpenFOAM's "renumberMesh" tool in order to reduce the bandwidth of the system matrix. This will greatly help to stabilize the solution process. * Updated user manual (new mesh formats; setup and fine-tuning of anti-aliasing). Changes since v5.3 (May 9th, 2025) ---------------------------------- * Export in CGNS format: - Added output of boundary face elements (collected for identical boundary conditions and names). - Boundary conditions now defined at the centroids of boundary elements. - Users can select between ADF and HDF5 database formats. Changes since v5.2 (April 12th, 2025) ------------------------------------- * Export in SU2 format: - All identically named boundary patches, being assigned the same boundary condition, are collected (including the elements) to form a single boundary. - Export function writes out a text file with the respective boundary markers (*_markers.txt). These can then be copied into the configuration file.
